Program Description:
Iowa Drug Card was launched in April of 2008 to help uninsured and underinsured Iowans to afford their prescription medications. This prescription assistance program is free and is perfect for state residents with no coverage. The program is also useful for residents that need non-covered medications or have a high deductible insurance plan. Everyone is eligible for this free program and there is no enrolment process.
The Iowa Drug Card works with clinics and hospitals across the state to create awareness of the program. The program is completely confidential and all cards are pre-approved and do not expire. Residents can save as much as 75% on generic as well as name brand medications. Iowa residents unable to obtain a hard card can visit any Kmart Pharmacy and simply ask to have their prescription processed through the Iowa Drug Card. The program is accepted at Kmart, CVS/pharmacy, HyVee, Walmart, Walgreens, Target, Shopko and Pamida along with 56,000 other participating pharmacies nationwide.
