Program Description:
The Indiana Drug Card is a FREE prescription assistance program that is available to all residents of the state of Indiana. The Indiana Drug Card was launched in July of 2009 to help the uninsured and underinsured afford their prescription medications. This program can be also used by those with insurance coverage on non-covered medications. Additionally, those with health savings accounts (HSA) or high deductible plans can use this program to help reduce out of pocket costs.
The program has no enrollment forms to fill out, no age or income requirements. Average savings using Indiana Drug Card is about 30% but some may see savings as high as 75%, depending on the medication. This card is accepted over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide, including CVS/pharmacy, which is the preferred pharmacy for the Indiana Drug Card. Other pharmacy chains that accept the card are Walgreens, Meijer, Kroger, Target, Walmart, Kmart and Marsh Drugs. There are a number of ways to obtain an Indiana Drug Card. At any time a card can be downloaded and printed from the website. If you are not able to print a member card, simply visit any CVS/pharmacy location in Indiana and ask the pharmacy to process your prescription through the Indiana Drug Card. Residents can also call the Indiana Drug Card contact number and request that cards be mailed to them. Indiana Drug Card works with Indiana Association of Cities and Towns as well as a growing number of cities, towns, clinics, hospitals and urgent care centers to make sure that cards are available all over the state. All cards come pre-activated and ready for use.
