Program Description:
The Hawaii Rx Card is the statewide prescription assistance program available to everyone living, working or traveling in the state. Because there are no applications, no restrictions, and no eligibility requirements, everyone is eligible to receive savings through this free program.
The program was launched in March 2010, in conjunction with the Hawaii Medical Association and the Hawai`i Hotel and Lodging Association, to offer assistance to the uninsured and underinsured. Hawaii Rx Card can also be used to discount prescription medications that are not covered by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. Hawaii Rx Card is accepted at Longs Drugs, Walmart, Safeway and Costco along with 56,000 pharmacies nationwide. Hawaii Rx Card can be used to save up to 75% on most brand and generic medications, with an average savings of 30%.
