Program Description:
Georgia Drug Card is the statewide free prescription assistance program available to all Georgia residents. The program was launched July 2010 to help uninsured and underinsured Georgians afford prescription medication. Residents with insurance can use the program to discount non-covered medications.
The Georgia Drug Card is working with the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG), Georgia Rural Health Association (GRHA), and the Georgia State Medical Association (GSMA) to expand card distribution sites throughout the state. The Georgia Drug Card, which is free to all Georgia residents, provides savings as much as 75% on all medications. The program is completely confidential and all cards are pre-approved and do not expire. The program is accepted at CVS/pharmacy, Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens, Target, Winn Dixie, Rite Aid, along with 56,000 other participating pharmacies nationwide. CVS/pharmacy is the preferred pharmacy for the Georgia Drug Card. Georgians unable to obtain a hard card can visit any CVS/pharmacy and simply ask to have their prescription processed through the “Georgia Drug Card”.
With today's rising cost of health care, the Georgia Drug Card is a simple solution to the high cost of prescription medications. Residents can print a free pre-activated card, locate participating pharmacies, and search drug pricing by visiting www.georgiadrugcard.com.
