Program Description:
Alaska Rx Card is a free prescription assistance program available to everyone living in Alaska. The program was launched to help the uninsured and underinsured residents of Alaska gain access to significant savings on prescription medications at their local pharmacies.
No personal information is required to join the program and there are no enrollment forms, no eligibility requirements, and no restrictions of any kind. The Alaska Rx Card provides discounts on both brand and generic medication with an average savings around 30%, with some discounts as high as 75%. The card is accepted at Fred Meyer, Safeway, Target, as well as over 56,000 participating pharmacies across the country. CVS/pharmacy is the program's preferred pharmacy. Alaska residents not able to obtain a member card can visit any preferred location and simply reference “Alaska Rx Card” to have a prescription processed through the program.
The Alaska Rx Card is a simple solution to the confusing maze of discount programs that have appeared in recent years. Residents of Alaska can obtain a pre-activated free Drug card, search drug pricing, and locate participating pharmacies by visiting www.alaskarxcard.com. Residents can also obtain cards at health centers, hospitals, clinics, and other card distribution sites that are being set up in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and many other locations across the state.
